Our Client is an international Food Ingredients company.  They wish to recruit a

Sales Manager / Technical Sales Manager to the B2B Food Sector in Italy

Location: Milan


  • Manage, develop and cross-sell the company’s products to 50 key B2B Food clients worth €25m
  • Seek out new clients and sell / cross-sell the company’s ingredients
  • Build excellent client relations
  • Manage agents
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, sales volumes, margins
  • Meet annual sales targets
  • Carry out reporting and participate in regular national and international meetings
  • Travel for 70% of the time visiting clients nationally
  • Take part in international meetings and training
  • Dedicate time to market analysis, strategy, forecasting, reporting and data entry / sharing
  • Work as part of national and international team


  • University degree holder in Food Science or similar; alternatively a Graduate in Marketing, Business Administration or similar
  • 3-5 years’ sales experience to the B2B Food sector; alternatively 3-5 years Food / Fresh Food sales experience to the retail / supermarket / B2C sector
  • Experience in KAM as well as in New Client Acquisition and Development
  • Good negotiation and commercial skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinker
  • Used to reporting, forecasting and data sharing; used to working with a CRM
  • Good / very good English as well as fluent Italian; knowledge of an additional European language constitutes a plus
  • Interested in food
  • Autonomous, well-organised, proactive as well as a problem-solver / trouble-shooter
  • Good at developing strong Client relations
  • Good at developing collaborative internal relations with colleagues located both in Italy and abroad
  • Able to work in a team
  • Used to reaching goals and sales targets
  • Customer-satisfaction oriented
  • In possession of driving licence
  • Willing to travel for up to 70% of the time mainly in Italy to visit clients but also within Europe for company meetings
  • Interested in developing into a role of greater responsibility in Italy
