Role

Reporting to the European Management Board, in an organisation typical of northern European multinationals, the figure will work alongside the VP Sales. 
She/He will assure delivery of country strategic results in consideration to financial targets and organisational management and contribute to the regional goals and common business initiatives. 


Main Tasks: 
  • assure that entire range of country unit management activities are aligned with Company mission, vision and values; 
  • translate/transfer regional strategy into local strategy and goals;  
  • align Company priorities with country priorities and ensure proper execution on local level; 
  • generate country unit strategic vision towards further developing market opportunities, growing sales volume and organisational improvements; 
  • assure awareness of market development, local trends and drivers and access to necessary information to derive fitting actions; 
  • initiate and manage activities aimed at expanding the network of business contacts and strengthening the Company brand on the local and international markets; 
  • taking/supervising/monitoring wide range of complex actions aiming at putting country business strategy into force;  
  • keep and foster people management;  
  • oversee all country policies and procedures are in place to ensure business and organisational run within the highest quality standards, risk is minimised and customers have a positive experience; 
  • participate in optimisation projects with local and regional stakeholders; 
  • secure Company interests when negotiating and setting up contractual agreements with clients and external business partners;  
  • run regular control activities/routines in order to ensure sound country business performance; 
Resposibility: 
  • full country P&L; 
  • country budget – preparing, justification and proper execution – together with Finance Director; 
  • legal compliance (country and EU regulations); 
  • Company regional internal regulations compliance; 
  • business image of country unit as a reliable partner on the local/regional market;. 
  • representing Company interests when negotiating local contracts and setting up contractual agreements (individually or collectivelly in accordance with formal regulations); 
  • taking country organisational management related decisions; 
  • deciding individually on spendings in accordance with letter of empowerment (locally); 
  • deciding on entire range of labor regulations related issues of country middle management individuals.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Business Administration or Equivalent;
  • 10 years of experience in the role or in Operations Director Role;
  • Preferred background: Logistics, Supply Chain, Food, Retail,; Utilities or Waste Management;
  • Experience in change management;
  • Team building;
  • Good communication skills, Client orientation, Change Management, Target-oriented, Team/ project Management;
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of German and French is appreciated but not mandatory.
