Our client is a multinational chemical-pharmaceutical company with more than 80 years of history and a robust product portfolio within the specialty care therapeutic areas. The company is entering the world of Rare Diseases, establishing a dedicated business unit in the major European markets.
Human Value is supporting the company in this strategic initiative, looking for solid professionals driven by passion and entrepreneurial spirit who have the desire to help build the new Rare Disease area from the scratch.
More specifically, we are focusing our search on the development of the dedicated Field Medical Organization, and we are looking for 3 Senior Medical Science Liaison Managers based on the following areas in Germany:

  • Frankfurt
 

The Role

The role
The purpose of the role is to disseminate high quality and complex scientific information, to provide innovative medical education content and to generate medical insights to facilitate patient management and care. The Senior MSLM will have the following responsibilities:
 
  • The Senior MSLM is accountable for planning and executing the affiliate Rare Diseases Portfolio Medical Affairs Plan.
  • Oversee and manage potential expanded access programs for therapies under development and other scientific projects such as registries, phase IV studies etc.
  • Build and maintain peer level relationship with key external experts and engage with the medical / scientific community in a highly credible, balanced, and objective manner.
  • Specific aspects of this role are the close collaboration and strong alignment with the Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Advocacy and the Commercial team to ensure key strategic medical projects are fully supported and executed in the respective country by sharing medical knowledge and insights with the cross-functional team and contributing to achieving shared goals.
  • Help set up and provide medical-scientific training and further education in the specific Rare Disease portfolio for local and regional ITF personnel.
  • Organization and execution of scientific events such as symposia, and other educational initiatives for healthcare professionals.
  • Organization of and participation in local advisory board meetings.
  • Build and maintain expertise in Rare Diseases Area by continuous education and participation in national and international congresses.
  • Support the Medical Team in handling of external medical and scientific requests.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulatory requirements and ITF Local and Global Policies and Guidelines.

The Requirements

 
  • Medical or scientific qualification / University degree preferred.
  • Solid professional experience of working in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, in a similar role (Rare Diseases preferred).
  • Thorough knowledge of the local rare disease market.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and the procedural guidelines that apply to the approval of medicinal products in the country (Pharmacodex, Compliance).
  • Strong communication and presentation (scientific and non-scientific) throughout all levels in English and in local language(es).
  • High-level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyze and process clinical and scientific data.
  • Experience in liaising with healthcare professionals.
  • Willingness to travel >60% as it is a field-based role.
