The Role

The Public Relations Director is responsibile for developing and executing the company’s global PR strategy, with a strong focus on brand storytelling, wine education and stakeholder engagement. This role ensures consistent messaging across all PR platforms, strengthens the brand’s reputation in key markets, and enhances visibility within the wine trade, press and consumers.
 

Key responsibilities
 

  • Define and implement a comprehensive PR strategy aligned with the brand’s identity, heritage and business goals
  • Manage corporate, product and institutional PR communication (press, events)
  • Serve as the main point of contact for media press relations, wine critics and influencers at both national and international levels
  • Oversee the creation of press releases, speeches, newsletters and content for corporate and promotional use
  • Analyse press coverage and propose improvements
  • Coordinate PR campaigns and media PR events, including press tours, tastings and wine fairs
  • Develop strong narratives for PR activities around the winery’s terroir, sustainability practices and oenological excellence
  • Collaborate with marketing, digital, sales and production team to ensure integrated messaging
  • Supervise the PR team and external agencies
  • Manage the PR budget and measure the effectiveness of activities through KPIs
  • Ensure press coverage is generated in the most effective manner
  • Support the company spokesperson (especially the president of the board)
Requirements:


Education:
  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related fields
  • A Master’s Degree or Certification in Wine & Spirits (e.g. WSET, sommelier diploma) are a strong asset
Experience:
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in corporate communication or PR roles, preferably in the wine, food and beverage or luxury lifestyle industries
  • Proven track record in managing media relations, brand PR and storytelling projects
  • Experience working in international markets and understanding cultural nuances in communication
Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and Italian; additional languages are plus)
  • Confidence in public speaking and representing the brand externally
  • Ability to manage teams, budgets and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge of wine culture, terminology, production processes and current market trends is a strong asset, its absence does not preclude consideration
